Why would you invest your precious time or hard earned cash on presentation skills training?
I will tell you why because communicating with mass audiences is the world’s highest paid profession. Having a great presentation dramatically impacts the level of income you can make as a presenter/public speaker.
Public speakers earn a minimum $250,000.00 per year up to well over $1,000,000 per year and the main difference between $250,000 and $1,000,000 is the quality of their presentation.
Why would you settler for a mere $250,000 per year when you could spend a little time and money on some quality presentation skills training that could potentially double or even triple your income.
I was listening to a teleseminar by Shawn Casey and Jim Fleck recently where they stated that they consistently make over $1,000,000 per month promoting their business with teleseminars.
Do you think some quality presentation skills training would be worth time and effort even if you could make only 1% of that figure? Which by the way is $10,000 a month for just talking, and the best bit is if you interview someone else they do most of the talking for you. That would be a lot better than most people’s monthly salary wouldn’t you agree?
Why is it that public speaking pays so well anyway? After all the majority of the population are quite capable of talking right? I believe it all comes down to fear!! Most people list a fear of public speaking above the fear of death!!!
Ludicrous I know, as I don’t know of too many things more permanent than death.
Emerson said “Fear defeat’s more people than any other one thing in the world”
This fear of presenting in front of an audience seems to be the main reason for the money in speaking being so good. The demand for speakers is high but because of this fear that grips the majority of the population the supply of speakers is low. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work out what happens to the price of a product when demand is high and supply is low.
Anyway enough about why you would want to invest in presentation skills training. Here are four key tips that I have learnt from watching his John Childers Million Dollar Training DVD that is part of the Money Masters home study pack.
Don’t tease from the platform, if someone has a question and you know the answer tell them the answer.
You want your audience to leave with information overload. You want them to leave thinking to themselves if I learnt that much from that speaker in ninety minutes how much would I learn from their other products.
Don’t ever read your key points; eye contact is crucial when presenting your key points, lack of eye contact reduces credibility and rapport.
Be yourself and dress how you feel comfortable. Don’t wear a three piece suit just to present an image that isn’t you. It will only make you feel uncomfortable and distract your mind from the job at hand, making a sensational presentation.
Slow your speech rate to convey serious points that you really want the audience to understand. Slow speech conveys the importance of the message.
